BIO

Tim Unger’s sudden inception into The Bleeding Hearts began in September 2019. An unfortunate circumstance occurred when guitarist Mark Rosenhan had to leave the band suddenly, due to the fact that he had serious nerve damage to his hands and fingers and could no longer perform. This urgency that Tim endured was an unprecedented matter. He put his nose to the grindstone and learned over 60 songs in record time and was a full - fledged member of the band just like that. Just as Tim was hitting his stride after six gigs the band was grounded due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finally, after a year off (from the pandemic) and a few rehearsals Bleeding Hearts picked up where they left off with Tim and started gigging again.  At this point, the band and as well as Tim are in top form.

Tim started playing guitar in 6th grade and then decided to take lessons at U- Crest music. This was a great training ground that helped develop the foundation of Tim’s playing. He also leaned heavily on the likes of Ace Frehley, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kim Mitchell, Warren DeMartini. George Lynch and Paul Gilbert. These players had a profound influence and are heroes and musical mentors still today. Basically, Tim’s guitar prowess is an amalgamation of all the aforementioned players but with his own personal slant & style. Also, studying and emulating guitar players of that ilk have paid off exponentially for Tim as he is required to play many different genres of musical styles in Bleeding Hearts. This has expanded his musical repertoire and versatility solidify his position in the group.

Tim Unger is no stranger to the Buffalo music scene - he has played in a bevy of bands through the years most notably: Alien, Big Dangerous World, Split Image, Exit, Bullseye, currently an active member of Misfit Toys & The Bleeding Hearts.

His recording history is as follows: Big Dangerous World – in 1991 a 4- song cassette tape release entitled “Line of Fire”

Big Dangerous World – in 1994- CD single. Both releases we recorded at Siberia Sound studios.

Tim Unger – in 2004 - CD - titled “Take Two” recorded at Loft Studios.

Exit – in 2010 - CD – self -titled - recorded at Ken- Ton Electronics

Hondo’s Revenge – in 2012 -CD- recorded at Outer Limits Studio

Outlook on music: Tim states “I love to play music and am grateful to do so.  There is nothing better to do what you love and share it with other people.  If I’m not performing live,  there is probably a good chance I’m sitting in my living room with guitar in hand. I’m very thankful to my family who have supported my passion for music, and to all the talented people I’ve had and continue to perform with”

As the test of time has proven, Tim has turned out to be the missing link that has solidified the band as a force to be reckoned with. He is a team player and understands the vital role he plays with in the band.  The group is a band of brothers with a common goal to entertain its live audience, to show them a great time and to forget about the stresses of life. Come on out and bear witness
